During this winter, I had a few bouts of cold and it really wore me down. Therefore, I decided to try the Organic India Immunity capsules. As soon as I opened the bottle, I could feel the smell of dry Tulsi leaves.

Each 275mg vegetarian capsule contains:

  • Katuki rhizome with root (Picorhiza kurroa) 165mg
  • Organic Krishna Tulsi leaf (Ocimum sanctum) 55mg
  • Organic Vana Tulsi leaf (Ocimum gratissimum) 55mg

Organic India immunity has been tested for heavy metals in compliance with international safety standards. Dosage: 1-2 capsules with food and water twice a day. Each bottle has 60 capsules and costs Rs.175. At two capsules/day, a bottle lasts for a month.

Major ingredient of Organic India Immunity is Tulsi, also called as Basil. Many Hindu families treat Tulsi as a holy plant and worship it. It also has great medicinal properties. In my childhood, mom used to make me eat a few leaves every day. It is a common home remedy. Its medicinal benefits are:

  • Improves the immunity and cures cold, cough and fevers
  • Good for the skin
  • It has plenty of anti-oxidants
  • Useful as an insect repellant
  • It is an adaptogen and reduces stress

Katuki is an herb used in Ayurvedic treatment and its translation from Sanskrit means bitter. It regulates pitta and kapha, which can cause digestion problems, acidity and fat. Its benefits are improving digestion, anti-diabetic activity, anti-asthmatic activity, controls inflammation and protects the liver.

My Experience:

I started taking a capsule after breakfast every day during late winter. Cold and fever viruses were still active during this period. Even when my colleagues were coughing away, I got away with only a mild sore throat. I felt that it really boosted my immunity levels to some extent. Even if we do catch a virus, we could recover more quickly than usual.
